Presentation: "Keeping an Eye on the Competition – Going Beyond Google"

Competitive Intelligence Tools and Techniques that help you mine the web for better insight about competitors, customer behavior, and future trends.

Knowing where your competitor(s) are headed can be the difference between success and failure in business, yet most market researchers are stretched too thin just analyzing their company’s own customers to truly spend much time analyzing the competition. In this presentation Cascade Insights, a competitive intelligence and qualitative market research firm, will walk you through a number of tools, that anyone can use, to quickly identify research candidates who have knowledge of your competitor’s activities and products. We’ll also walk through tips and techniques that you can use on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis to keep tabs on your competitors or even your partners.

For client side researchers you’ll learn the key tips and techniques you need to keep a clear line of sight on your partners, suppliers, and on your company’s competition. For vendor side researchers you’ll learn how you can quickly recruit individuals who have knowledge of the offerings brought to market by your client’s competitor’s and you’ll learn how to effectively reach out to these individuals for IDI’s and other research efforts.

About the Speaker

Sean and Scott have built two businesses in the arena of technology marketing and consulting. The first, 3 Leaf, was a technical consultancy whose client list included companies such as Microsoft and Intel. After growing and selling 3 Leaf, Sean founded Cascade Insights. Cascade Insights focuses on increasing our client’s share of their market through the use of competitive intelligence practices. Sean is also the Chair of the Oregon Chapter of the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals.
